2025 CARRERA news

Today, January 28, 2025, 9:00 AM, CARRERA published the new products of the year on its website. What does CARRERA have in store for us this year? The products are still in the egg but will arrive during this year. The catalog has not yet been released so it is possible that some new products have not yet been presented on the CARRERA website.

The answer below:

DIGITAL 124

A new box set arrives with a set of vehicles among the new models of the year. A classic layout, but wireless controllers.

As every year, many new cars. The D124 is very popular in Germany and Carrera always offers great new models every year.

DIGITAL 132

Three new boxes this year with a minimalist track, an average circuit and a longer one. Each box has a different set of cars. Common point and it’s a good thing, each box is provided with wireless controllers. Of course these are the latest versions of CARRERA controllers that are included (with batteries and not lipo batteries)

On the car side, there are still many new products because this range is also very popular in Germany. With many GT3 models.

Formula 1 Special Packs
Red Bull Racing arrives at 1/32° with a dedicated box and two cars (in the box and individually). The D132 range is missing, but last year 4 models were offered by CARRERA (2 Ferrari and 2 Red Bull Racing). If putting 4 Red Bull on the track can be weird, a race with 2 Ferrari and 2 Red Bull, it must be great. On the other hand, who says Formula 1 Says watch out for track exits and spoilers.

EVOLUTION

No boxes announced on the Carrera website. Maybe it will appear soon? Sign of an announced end of the range? I have a little trouble believing it for the moment. In any case we find a good part of the D132 vehicles in EVOLUTION. Easy you will tell me everything is the same except the small electronic card inside.

GO

What’s new on the GO side, the brand’s general public range?
Still many boxes, with 9 new products. With no less than 3 boxes for Formula 1 with Red Bull and Ferrari. Surprised not to see a box with a McLaren which is nevertheless announced individually (maybe other boxes to come?).

It seems that CARRERA wants to please the American market with 2 boxes with American cars. Note that the 2 boxes have the same cars but that one is from the GO Battery Range.

For the cars we find the cars from the individual boxes but also the Mercedes still under tarpaulin, so to be continued.

Atypical box, the Tuning Hyper Sportscar or Tuning Zone which includes 2 vehicles that seem identical in terms of shapes and colors. No sponsor and decorations on the car, we do not know if they are existing vehicles or imagined by Carrera.

Small surprise, accessories side, expansion packs. Four in total, but only one revealed, for the others only the name of the theme is known?
A GT Racer pack with a Safety Car and a Ferrari CARRERA.

Another pack with probably 2 cars on the Nascar theme will be offered.
And two other packs with more general names are displayed. The super Hump has 2 straight lines (code C), 3 straight lines code (D) and 3 code (E), but also the bridge. The XXL will contain 2 straight lines (C), 3 straight lines code (D) and 3 code (E), with a scale. The scale is not the easiest accessory to pass for the youngest. Like the loop, it is not the most realistic on the racing side, but it is the most FUN. I would have rather named this reference FUN XXL!

FIRST

The youngest are not forgotten with the ever popular FIRST range. Every year a new license arrives and in 2025 it is Bluey and Bingo who arrive on the blue track. And still as popular as ever is the Paw Patrol with variant boxes. No changes to the layouts of the boxes offered.
A track element expansion pack should be released but no information on its content.

SPEED ARENA

A new range, that’s a surprise. But the details remain to be known. A case with a circuit inside, almost a logical continuation, we almost wonder why Carrera did not offer it before. While waiting for more information, we can extrapolate with the few clues. Visually the case has exactly the same shape as the competitor’s cases. Everything is the same, it smells like the same manufacturing plant, only the color changes. If we look at the characteristics of these cases, they are powered by 5 AA batteries. This is not the same number of batteries as the FIRST circuits (4), it would be so great to be able to use the FIRST cars. Using your cars on the circuit at home and going on vacation with the case, we would almost be jealous of the GO range !!!!!

HYBRID

Released in Germany last year, the range will officially arrive probably in the third quarter in the rest of the world, but Carrera is treating its new wave with new features. No less than 12 new cars will arrive, while last year the 6 cars offered were simply a color variant and without any decoration, this year they are real racing cars.

No box announced to date, but it is unthinkable that CARRERA does not offer one with these new cars, so I have no doubt that they will be announced later.

We will note a game controller Siglé CARRERA to drive the cars. If it is possible to use a game console controller to drive a Hybrid car, we do not know if we will be able to use a Carrera controller to play on console, but one thing is sure, it will work on phone with the Hybrid app.

And finally 3 new rail references are arriving:

  • R2-30° curves, a pack of 2 right-hand curves and two left-hand curves
  • A box of two 180° hairpins
  • a track narrowing (too bad there is not a narrowing on the left and another rail on the right, apparently it is a narrowing on one side delivered with a classic straight rail.

RC

RC side no big news, reissues of quads from the Mario Kart series, but also reissues of mini Karts. A few new classic vehicles without big news.

And last year’s box of a circuit with 2 SONIC cars, is joined with a Mario Kart box which has the particularity of having multicolored track edges like some circuits of the game. It’s a nice idea.
On the margin a small Sonic helicopter, the only new thing on the aerial side.

Bundesliga
What is this thing? Google what is “Bundesliga”? Well it’s the Football league in Germany!
Ok, that’s why there is a football field marked out with barriers and two goals. And the goal is to play football with RC cars to score goals. 1/43° cars with a bumper to guide the ball. To be tested, but with 4 cars it must be really fun with friends if the cars remain manageable! But from there to obtaining the official license, it’s daring by CARRERA. The cars are also available in the Pull and Speed range.
